August 2017 Fishing Report:

Ok folks!  The heat is on as high-90 degree temps are not uncommon. But it has not bothered the fish as we are doing very well on redfish and still catch a trout here and there. Had one last week that was 28 inches long. The flats are teaming with crabs and brown shrimp. Both are on the top of a redfish’s forage list. We had a couple days around the big moon where fish were laid up much of the day but we still managed a few fish. It’s time for the tarpon to be here but the wind has blown too hard. We will wait it out.

So until next time, remember to be a good steward to our resources and practice CPR.
